I downloaded a clip off youtube to my computer using dvdvideosoft.
It was in 3GP format, which supposedly the phone accepts.
When I plugged my phone in and synced the video, (using Windows Media Player) it said succesful on the computer.

I have a 4 minute 3GP clip recorded from my mobile phone. It’s reasonably good quality, but it’s an unbelievable 70 MB, for FOUR MINUTES!!! I know for a fact that there are file formats which could show a four minute clip in much better quality than this, and still have way, way smaller than 70 mb.
